The Blendermann Sessions 1

The gear and I went on a field trip to Andrew Blendermann's house in fall of '07, where we recorded these and a few other songs. Andrew is my favorite pianist and we always have fun. I did sing guide vocals in his bathroom, but the final vocals were recorded in the far more glamorous environs of my living room. They are demo-ish; some I will re-record as band songs, some will stay piano songs.

After a minor heartbreak, I wrote both of these songs in one weekend in November 2000. That could be the reason why both are in the key of D, except for the other reason, which is that I like D, and D likes me. If this were a musical, there would be a big scene where both were sung at the same time. Thank God this isn't a musical, for so many reasons. Guitars by Mike Sage, recorded at Hinge in Chicago in about '02. Vocal tracks recorded yesterday in the living room.
